Inclusive Church

Inclusive Church Statement

This policy statement is subject to annual review and was agreed by the PCC on 4th March 14

After a period of consultation by the PCC with the worshipping community the Church here at Hey signed up to “The Inclusive Church”. As a worshipping community we aspire to support the Inclusive Church statement of belief as follows:

“We believe in inclusive church – Church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”

To this end we call on our church here at Hey to:

 Live out the promise of the Gospel.

 Celebrate the diverse gifts of all members of the body of Christ.

 and in the order of our common life to open the ministries of deacon, priest and bishop to those so called to serve God, regardless of their gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
