Farewell to Denise
Today we said farewell to our warden Denise who is moving out of the parish this week. Denise disclosed that she has been a member of this church for 41 years, and during this time as well as being a warden she has been involved in Sunday school, brownies and guides, leading worship as an ALM, a PCC member, deanery synod rep, and many other tasks including gardening (with the help of her husband David).
Denise was presented with flowers, a card and a cheque which we are sure she will make good use of in her new home.
We are all very grateful for Denise’s long and faithful ministry and wish her and her husband every happiness in their new life away from us here, our love and prayers go with you.
Denise – you will be sorely missed.

TREES DONATION APPEAL
Unfortunately, the church has had to take urgent action to fell 9 trees which have become dangerous due to ash die back, 6 in the churchyard and 3 in the old graveyard. Last week a substantial branch fell from one tree into a neighbour’s garden. We have had to get permission for the felling from the council and as you can see from the photograph posted earlier the contractor has begun this week. As you can imagine the cost of this work is substantial, and so we are asking if you could help by making a donation towards the cost. If you would like to help then please place your donation in an envelope marked “Trees” with your name or envelope number and either place in the collection or hand to me or a member of clergy or a warden. You could also donate directly into the church bank account with the reference Trees and your name; speak to me if you require the church’s bank details.
Any donation, however small, will help towards paying for this work, and would be gratefully received.
Thank you
Edna Green, Treasurer
Ash trees
As you will see in the Pewsheet there is a problem with a number of our ash trees suffering from disease. The work to remove those affected has now commenced.

ASSISTANT TREASURER
I took on the role of treasurer when our previous treasurer had to step down due to family and work commitments. I thought that this would be a temporary position until the church was able to find someone willing to take this on permanently. However, I soon realised that it would be better for the smooth running of the church to continue in this role. One of the main duties of the treasurer is counting and recording all the collections, and now that the church is fully open again this job is increasing, and so I am looking for someone to come forward to be Assistant Treasurer to help with this. The counting is always undertaken by 2 people, and usually done after the main Sunday morning service.
If you would like to become more involved with the church, particularly if you attend the family service, and help by taking on this role, or would like to know more, please contact me or the wardens/clergy.
